This July 1st, Canada will be celebrating its 151st birthday. Parties featuring events for all ages will be going from dusk til dawn all across the country, including the cities and towns home to our hotels. Here is a list of events to attend if you will be staying with us this Canada Day.
The Brooks & District Museum will be hosting their annual Canada Day celebration from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. The festivities will include a Pancake Breakfast, Teddy Bear Picnic, speeder car rides, ice cream and cake, games for kids, antique tractor parade, and more! For more information, click here.
The City of Brooks will be hosting a Canada Day celebration at Duke of Sutherland Park from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm, which will include bouncy castles, face painting, live entertainment, games, and more! There will also be a FREE BBQ lunch starting at 1:00 pm served by the Brooks Kiwanis Club. Starting at 10:00 pm, enjoy an outdoor showing of the movie "Wonder", followed by fireworks at 11:00 pm. Cranbrook, British Columbia
Head to Rotary Park for an afternoon of fun, the festivities will take place between 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Local bands will be rocking the gazebo, while a bouncy castle village will be set up at the back end of the park for the kids. There will also be an open market with over 30 vendors, activities throughout the park, and a few special surprise guests joining the formal celebrations at 3:00 pm. For more information, click here
Pincher Creek, Alberta
Join the Kootenai Brown Pioneer Village for Canada Day celebrations starting at 10:00 am. Tours, concessions, the annual Rotary Duck Race, beer gardens, bouncy tents, music & entertainment, cake cutting, games, and kids crafts and activities are just a few of the many fun activities that you can expect throughout the afternoon. Canada Day will also mark the grand opening of the Town of Pincher Creek Spray Park. There will be an official ceremony starting at 3:00 pm at the park.
The evening celebration will start at 9:30 pm at the Agriculture Grounds with DJ Stu providing the music. Don't forget to also bring your lawn chairs and blankets and watch the fireworks display at 11:00 pm. More details can be found here.
Kick off your Canada Day celebrations at Diefenbaker Park with a breakfast buffet from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, followed by the official ceremonies starting at 10:00 am. Enjoy a full day of entertainment on the mainstage from 11:00 am to dusk. Featured acts include Brock Andrews, Stuck In The 80's, Transcontinental Blues Band, and more! There will also be displays, food vendors, a marketplace, beverage gardens, and more. Finish off the evening with an amazing fireworks display at 10:40 pm. For more information, click here
The Town of Taber will be hosting a full day of family-friendly activities in celebration of Canada Day. At 12:00 pm come to watch the flag raising ceremony and cannon salute. At 12:15 pm there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the brand-new Station 6 Gazebo. There will be lots of fun activities for all ages at Confederation Park throughout the day, including live entertainment, bouncy castles, face painting, family lawn games, pony rides, and more! The Taber Fire Department will also be on hand to cool down visitors with some water. From 12:15 pm to 2:00 pm join the Kiwanis Club of Taber for free hot dogs behind the Administration Building. At Ken McDonald Memorial Sports Field there will be an outdoor movie showing of Disney's "Ferdinand". The Taber Food Bank will be hosting a fundraising concession during the movie. There will be live entertainment, dance demonstrations, a classic car display, bouncy castles, games, and more during the annual Canada Day celebrations at George Lane Park from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan
Head over to Crescent Park for a day of family-friendly activites at Crescent Park. Throughout the park you will find giant yard games including Yardzee, Jenga, Snakes & Ladders, Connect 4, Kerplunk, and Bean Bag Toss. From 1:00pm to 5:00pm there will be a living library set up in the middle of the park for people to connect and get to know the community and learn some new skills. Members of the Moose Jaw Miller Express will be at the festivities to interact with kids and hand out free tickets to games. And don't forget to check out the Moose Jawg Charity Road Race.
