The right candidate will maintain a professional and pleasant attitude and ensure excellent customer service is provided in all areas of the hotel. Supervise and direct the operations of the hotel within the guidelines set out in the Heritage Inn Hotel’s Operation Manual.
Description of Duties:
Assist with the operation of the front desk (answering phone, taking reservations, checking in/out guests, transferring calls, cash outs).
Assist with the Housekeeping Department (room inspections, cleaning rooms if required, cleaning laundry if required).
Assist with the operation of the Café Café (seating customers, assisting wait staff, taking cash).
Assist with the operation of the Lounge (assisting server, preparing drinks, running food, taking cash).
Assist with the operation of the Nightclub or Pub (scheduling, policing, assisting staff). Perform security walkthroughs of the entire hotel premise.
Complete beverage orders (requisitions are required for this procedure).
Communicate to the General Manager of daily activities through a logbook.
Ensure hotel standards are being followed and reviewed regularly
Ensure department procedures (open & closing duties, cleaning lists) are being adhered to.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the General Manager.
Must wear professional and appropriate attire
Must have a well-groomed appearance at all times
Must be able to perform efficiently under pressure and within time constraints
Must be honest and trustworthy
Must have ability to work cooperatively with all hotel employees
Must be aware of all company policies, procedures, amenities and services
Must be flexible for day or night shifts, as well, split shifts if necessary
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Positive attitude towards the hotel and the hotel industry in general
Must have the ability to handle and solve customer related concerns and complaints and report to management as necessary
Knowledge and Education:
Degree in hotel management
Must have complete knowledge and understanding of all the company’s policies, standards and procedures, as well as being familiar with Provincial labor and safety regulations
General knowledge of tourism industry and attractions in the immediate area
Knowledge of hotel management computer system and POS system
A minimum of one-year management experience is required
