The Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre in Cranbrook, British Columbia is hiring a Prep and Banquet Cook to join their kitchen team!
Please Note: Must have flexible availability - available to work morning and weekend shifts.
What You Will Do:
- Preparing ingredients and breakfast items as quickly and efficiently as possible.
- Keeping the work area stocked, organized, and clean at all times.
- Ensuring the work areas and equipment are kept functional and orderly at all times; reporting any deficiencies, as necessary.
- Ensuring fridges, freezers, storerooms, and areas where food is stored are kept secure.
- Referring to the kitchen logbook and inquiring about soup of the day, specials, or functions and preparing them accordingly.
- Performing any other job-related duties assigned by the supervisor/manager.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Cares about their professional appearance and follows the uniform and dress code.
- Works cooperatively with others.
- Knows how to operate and perform routine maintenance on equipment located in the kitchen.
- Applies safe work practices.
- Is available for shift, morning, and weekend work.
- Is able to perform efficiently under pressure and within time restraints.
Please Be Aware:
- You may be expected to be on your feet for long periods of time.
- Some physical labour and heavy lifting is required.
- The job involves a rigorous pace of work.
Skill Requirements:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- A strong ability to handle and solve customer related concerns and report them to supervisor, as necessary.
Knowledge and Training:
- Knowledge of WHMIS program.
- Food Safe Level I certificate is required.
