The Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre in Cranbrook, British Columbia is hiring a Prep and Banquet Cook to join their kitchen team!

Please Note: Must have flexible availability - available to work morning and weekend shifts.

What You Will Do:

• Preparing ingredients and breakfast items as quickly and efficiently as possible.
• Keeping the work area stocked, organized, and clean at all times.
• Ensuring the work areas and equipment are kept functional and orderly at all times; reporting any deficiencies, as necessary.
• Ensuring fridges, freezers, storerooms, and areas where food is stored are kept secure.
• Referring to the kitchen logbook and inquiring about soup of the day, specials, or functions and preparing them accordingly.
• Performing any other job-related duties assigned by the supervisor/manager.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Cares about their professional appearance and follows the uniform and dress code.
• Works cooperatively with others.
• Knows how to operate and perform routine maintenance on equipment located in the kitchen.
• Applies safe work practices.
• Is available for shift, morning, and weekend work.
• Is able to perform efficiently under pressure and within time restraints.

Please Be Aware:

• You may be expected to be on your feet for long periods of time.
• Some physical labour and heavy lifting is required.
• The job involves a rigorous pace of work.

Skill Requirements:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• A strong ability to handle and solve customer related concerns and report them to supervisor, as necessary.

Knowledge and Training:

• Knowledge of WHMIS program.
• Food Safe Level I certificate is required.

Industry Experience and Benefits:

• Previous experience in the food industry is an asset.
