If you have ever stayed at a hotel, then you know that some of the most important aspects of your stay included a clean and comfortable room; good food served in a reasonable time; and warm, friendly hotel staff that made you feel welcomed.  If they did their job properly, then you wanted to come back and stay at that hotel again and you probably even told your friends and family about how enjoyable your stay was.

Banquet Server

Location: Cranbrook, BC

The Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre Cranbrook is currently seeking a part-time Banquet Server to join our team.

This position will include:

Reviewing and being aware of function requirements per the function confirmation sheet.

Demonstrating a thorough knowledge of all food and beverage menus items and their presentation as well as sides and choices associated with each item.

Ensuring appropriate setup of function rooms per the function confirmation sheet. (i.e. Linens, glassware, flatware, meeting equipment and supplies, etc.)

Servicing of food and beverage requirements during functions

Clearing of cutlery, glassware, dishes etc. at appropriate intervals of food and beverage service.

Periodically inquiring with the guests to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responding to guest concerns and complaints quickly and efficiently.

Performing any other job related duties as assigned by the Banquet / Catering Manager.

Keeping work area stocked, organized and clean at all times as defined by the task list and cleaning schedules posted in the department.

Ensuring work areas and equipment are kept functional and orderly at all times, reporting any deficiencies as necessary.

Attending department staff meeting as required

Line Cook

Location: Cranbrook, BC

The Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre is currently seeking a part-time Line Cook to join our team.

This position will include:

Preparing all food orders per specification sheets as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Keeping work area stocked, organized and clean at all times.

Ensure work areas and equipment are kept functional and orderly at all times, reporting any deficiencies as necessary.

Attend department staff meeting as required.

Responsible for daily product production according to preparation list(s).

Prepare and issue products requested by requisition for other departments.

Ensure fridges, freezers, storerooms and areas where food is stored are kept secure.

Assist with receiving and proper storage of all deliveries.

Perform any other job related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Who we are looking for:

A hardworking, knowledgeable and proactive individual with at least one year of food industry experience.  

Always willing to jump in and help whenever required.

Preference will be given to individuals with Food Safe certification

Must be able to start immediately.

Evening and weekend work will be required.

Dishwasher

Location: Cranbrook, BC

The Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre is currently seeking a part-time Dishwasher to join our team.

This position will include:

Set up bussing and sorting stations.

Wash and sanitize dishes

Monitor and refill necessary dish washing and cleaning chemicals as required, informing the supervisor of low inventory levels.

Relocate all clean dishes and cookware to designated storage areas.

Sweep and mop floors as required.

Perform any other job related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Maintenance Assistant

Location: Cranbrook, BC

The Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre in Cranbrook, B.C. is currently seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant to join our team.

This position will include:

Pool / Hot Tub Maintenance (test water quality, add chemicals, clean surfaces, inspect safety equipment, vacuum sediment, change hot tub water, inspect change rooms, mop pool deck and change areas)

Minor electrical repairs (replace electrical cord plug ends, switches, electrical receptacles, change light bulbs, clean light fixture lenses)

Minor plumbing repairs (replace sinks, toilets, and the parts required to maintain them, repairs to water supply lines and drains, plunge toilets and sinks, pressure jet drain lines)

Drywall repairs, painting (walls, doors, exterior wall surfaces and trim)

Empty recycle containers and follow good recycling practices (light bulbs, cardboard, paper, glass, tin cans and plastics) sort bottles for return to recycle depots, empty trash receptacles in designated areas.

Receive deliveries and store deliveries in designated areas.

Clean AC filters, replace guest room air conditioners, clean air diffusers and return grates from HVAC systems, change filters air systems

Exterior Property maintenance (water flowers, pull weeds, sweep debris, trim trees, shovel snow, operate a snow blower, spread ice-melt and sand as needed, etc) 

Reboot wireless internet networks, reprogram guest tv remotes, and diagnose TV / cable problems when required.

Assist hotel guests with luggage

Fill-in janitorial shifts (vacuum floors, mop floors, clean washrooms, clean windows and mirrors, dust, empty trash containers, etc)

Who we are looking for:

A hardworking, proactive, detail oriented individual that is always mindful of safety and security protocols.

Physical labour and heavy lifting is required.

Chef

Location: Cranbrook, BC

The Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre in Cranbrook, B.C. is currently seeking a full-time team member to oversee, direct, and manage kitchen operations for our on-site Restaurant, Lounge, and Banquet departments and staff.

This position will include:

Food purchasing, receiving and storing as per hotel standards.
Ensuring that quality of all food prepared at all times and constantly checking for taste, temperature, and visual appeal.
Ensuring any guest concerns and complaints are resolved quickly and efficiently.
Making daily inspections of all fridges, freezers and food storerooms, to ensure proper management, rotation and dating of all products.
Ensuring work areas are stocked, organized and cleaned at all times.
Planning daily features.
Record food inventory.
Maintain awareness of all fire safety regulation.
Hire, train and supervise all kitchen staff and provide effective ongoing training.
Coordinate daily activities and schedules of all department staff.
Conduct regular department staff meetings.
Participate in the annual budget process to ensure financial objectives are met for the Food & Beverage Division.

Who we are looking for:

A hardworking, knowledgeable and proactive professional with at least two years of kitchen supervisory experience.
Preference will be given to candidates with Red Seal Certification or equivalent.
Must be passionate about the food service industry and current with the latest provincial and federation regulations and industry trends.

A hands-on and detail-oriented manager who believes in leading by example, and is always willing to jump in and help whenever required. Evening and weekend work will be required.
