Sous Chef / Kitchen Manager · Part-time

Location: High River, AB

This position will include: ​

Food purchasing, receiving and storing as per hotel standards.

Ensuring that quality of all food prepared at all times and constantly checking for taste, temperature, and visual appeal.

Ensuring any guest concerns and complaints are resolved quickly and efficiently.

Making daily inspections of all fridges, freezers and food storerooms, to ensure proper par levels, inventory management, rotation and dating of all products.

Ensuring kitchen and area is stocked, organized and cleaned at all times.

Planning daily features and specials.

Record food inventory.

Maintain awareness of all food and fire safety regulation.

Hire, train and supervise all kitchen staff and provide effective ongoing training ensuring certifications are up to date.

Coordinate daily activities and schedules of all department staff.

Conduct regular department staff meetings.

Participate in the annual budget process to ensure financial objectives are met for the Food & Beverage Division.

 

Who we are looking for:

A hardworking, knowledgeable and proactive professional with at least two years of kitchen supervisory experience and Food Safe certification.

Preference will be given to candidates with Red Seal Certification or equivalent.

Must be passionate about the food service industry and current with the latest provincial and federation regulations and industry trends.

A hands-on and detail-oriented manager who believes in leading by example, and is always willing to jump in and help whenever required. Evening and weekend work will be required. ​

Duty Manager · Full-time

Location: High River, AB

The right candidate will maintain a professional and pleasant attitude and ensure excellent customer service is provided in all areas of the hotel. Supervise and direct the operations of the hotel within the guidelines set out in the Heritage Inn Hotel’s Operation Manual.

 

Description of Duties:

Assist with the operation of the front desk (answering phone, taking reservations, checking in/out guests, transferring calls, cash outs).

Assist with the Housekeeping Department (room inspections, cleaning rooms if required, cleaning laundry if required).

Assist with the operation of the Café Café (seating customers, assisting wait staff, taking cash).

Assist with the operation of the Lounge (assisting server, preparing drinks, running food, taking cash).

Assist with the operation of the Nightclub or Pub (scheduling, policing, assisting staff). Perform security walkthroughs of the entire hotel premise.

Complete beverage orders (requisitions are required for this procedure).

Communicate to the General Manager of daily activities through a logbook.

Ensure hotel standards are being followed and reviewed regularly 

Ensure department procedures (open & closing duties, cleaning lists) are being adhered to.

Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the General Manager.

 

Position Requirements:

Must wear professional and appropriate attire

Must be able to perform efficiently under pressure and within time constraints

Must have ability to work cooperatively with all hotel employees

Knowledge and Education:

Degree in hotel management

Must have complete knowledge and understanding of all the company’s policies, standards and procedures, as well as being familiar with Provincial labor and safety regulations

General knowledge of tourism industry and attractions in the immediate area

Knowledge of hotel management computer system and POS system

Customer Service

 

Industry Experience:

A minimum of one-year management experience is required

Night Auditor · Part-time

Location: High River, AB

This position will include:

Answering and directing all calls appropriately and efficiently

Process and confirm room reservations

Greet, register and assign rooms to arriving guests

Present statement of charges to departing guests and receive payment for services 

Perform daily reporting using computerized and manual systems

Answer enquiries regarding guest services and registration of guests by letter, e-mail, telephone or in person 

Ensure work areas are stocked and equipment is kept functional and orderly at all times

Responsible for the daily reconciliation of all online reservations

Laundry / Room Attendant · Part-time

Location: High River, AB

This position will include:

Maintaining a neat and clean home for visitors

Taking part in laundry duties as required

Washing floors of guest bathrooms, hallways, lobbies, and other assigned areas as required

Dust and sanitize furniture and clean, polish and sanitize appliances

Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, upholstered furniture

Clean and sanitize washrooms, fixtures and surfaces

Wash doors, windows, walls and bathroom ceilings

Maintain all bedroom and bathroom linen and amenities

Perform any other job-related duties assigned by the supervisor

 

Who we are looking for:

Must have well-groomed appearance at all times

Ability to work cooperatively

Must know how to operate and perform routine maintenance on equipment located in the housekeeping department

Must have physical stamina to maintain a rigorous pace of work

Apply safe work practices where established
