Housekeeping Supervisor In Training · Full-time

Location: High River, AB

This position will include:

Assigning workers their duties and inspects work for conformance to prescribed standards of cleanliness.

Investigating complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.

Obtaining list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.

Coordinating work activities among departments.

Conducting orientation training and in-service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment.

Making recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.

Assisting with hiring, training and supervision of all Housekeeping and Laundry staff and provide effective ongoing training for all new and existing staff as determined in the evaluation process

Ensuring work areas, equipment and laundry facilities are kept functional and orderly at all times

Assisting with conducting performance evaluations of department staff and department staff meetings

Responding to guest concerns and complaints quickly and efficiently

Assisting with the coordination of daily activities and schedules of all department staff

Keeping work areas stocked, organized and clean at all times as defined by the task list and cleaning schedules posted in the department

 

Who we are looking for:

Work experience as a Housekeeping supervisor is an advantage but not necessary.

Working knowledge of housekeeping.

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Exceptional customer service skills.

Effective communication skills

Must have the ability to handle and solve customer related concerns and complaints

Morning and weekend work is required

Must be able to stand for long periods of time

Must wear a uniform as per hotel standards

Some physical labour and heavy lifting is required

Must be able to perform efficiently under pressure and within time restraints

Must be honest and trustworthy

Must have well-groomed appearance at all times

Ability to work cooperatively with all hotel employees

Must know how to operate and perform routine maintenance on equipment in housekeeping and laundry department

Must have physical stamina to maintain a rigorous pace of work

May require some knowledge of basic computer operation

Apply safe work practices where established

Housekeeping Certification may be required

 

Skill Requirements:
